Merchant onboarding process
When customers make donations online or in-person using your tiptap solution, the transaction is processed by a payment processor who directs the funds into your merchant bank account.
A tiptap-specific merchant account is required whether or not you have an existing merchant account or not. This is needed to create a secure connection between your tiptap solution and your bank account.
In the US, we offer tiptap merchant processing, and in Canada, our preferred payment processing partner is Moneris.
We also integrate with Global Payments in Canada, and Elavon in the US. Should you have a relationship with either Global Payments or Elavon, we can discuss a custom merchant processor setup with you.
Benevity Partnership: US Benevity customers can automatically get set up with tiptap using their existing Benevity ID. (Canadian platform coming soon)

Tax receipting
From your dashboard, you can generate a QR code designed to collect donor information for tax receipting purposes. You can download the QR code and either print it or display it digitally on a screen. Display it prominently to encourage donors to register for tax receipts. Donors only need to register once, and all historical and future contributions within a calendar year will be automatically included on their tax receipt. Your organization will have access to this information to facilitate accurate and timely receipting.
